Embrace Your Beauty (Destiny Brekke)

As humans, I feel we focus a lot on our “imperfections” and create insecurities for ourselves, when in reality that is what is truly making us beautiful and unique. Embracing those differences is self-love through and through.

What we notice on our journey with Destiny is that she is a force to be reckoned with, because she got better as the photo shoot progress: It was this moment we knew she was fierce, and relentless on getting those angles right, and her ability to really Embrace her Beauty! We know you will be impressed with our interview of Destiny. We love how she commanded the attention of the camera lenses. We love how Chuck from @cfphotogstudios said it best,” she belongs on someone fashion cover magazine”: we totally agree with that statement.

Who is Destiny? What does she want the world to know about her?

I have no idea she is an anomaly lol! I want the world to know…I’m hungry and I’m coming. I pray and hope you’ll see more of me.

What does embracing your beauty mean to you? Do you feel this is a form of self-love?

To me it’s embracing the real you. The authentic you, inside and out. Beauty to me is skin deep. As humans, I feel we focus a lot on our “imperfections” and create insecurities for ourselves, when in reality that is what is truly making us beautiful and unique. Embracing those differences is self-love through and through.

When did you first fall in love with modeling? Has modeling change your perspective on life through the fashion eyes?

I first fell in love with modeling when I was a little girl. I used to go on YouTube and watch fashion shows, I watched Americas next top model

and would never miss any Victoria secret show. I got myself wings one year and make shifted a runway outfit and was acting like I was in the show with them. I wanted to be a model so bad. But I was pretty aware at a young age that I didn’t fit the model standard. I wasn’t tall or skinny enough, so I just thought I was being realistic and knowing it wasn’t a possibility for me. As times changed and I saw how the fashion world got more inclusive, I just decided why not? The least I could do is try, right? I’m happy I did. I feel like the little girl inside me is screaming and so happy I’m giving it a shot.

If you could go back in time what would this version of Destiny share with the younger version of Destiny when it comes to fashion?

I don’t think I would change anything. I have some light regret or advice, but I feel everything is happening at the perfect time it needed to happen for me. And I feel like my drive, confidence, readiness and maturity is exactly where it needs to be. I guess I would tell younger me. “Girl, there’s a purpose to this process, get ready! Cause it’s coming!”

What is next for Destiny?

God willing, hopefully so much more! I’m ready for whatever is next for me.
