Embrace your Beauty ( Leonor)

a 23 year old Latina navigating the world, learning more about herself each and every day, and finding ways to change the world, big or small.

Everyone knows that the state of Massachusetts is known for hardworking powerful women. So we were at awe once we landed this interview ,because it was hard to get the scheduling setup for her interview and photoshoot. Once everything was in place and the shoot went off beautifully, we know that the audience will be shock once you read the interview and see her gorgeous photoshoot by a great photographer @aperture_shoots.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. My ethnicity is Puerto Rican.

What does creativity mean to you?

Creativity to me is another way of self expression. Sometimes an escape from reality, sometimes a way of reflecting on all things, good or bad. There’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to creativity.

Who is Leonor Ayala- Sanchez?

Leonor Ayala-Sanchezis a perfectly imperfect human being; a 23 year old Latina navigating the world, learning more about herself each and every day, and finding ways to change the world, big or small.

I am a daughter, a sister, a godmother, girlfriend, hopefully soon to be a dog mom. I am a manager, a paraprofessional, a swim instructor. I always aim to be a supportive and understanding person but with boundaries. Sometimes the feisty side can come out if and when someone needs to be put in check. Respect is always key.

How does embracing your beauty describe you?

“Embracing My Beauty” depicts the confidence I aim and work towards every day. It describes MY definition of beauty, a strong confident woman who isn’t afraid of being sexy. “Embracing My Beauty” shows that I do not need to have the stereotypical body type or fit the standards of beauty or social norms society has introduced to us and placed on women. I can feel beautiful and respected meanwhile still being a sexy, provocative woman. Most importantly, this is FOR ME; not to please anyone or attract a man/partner. I refuse to be viewed as less than just because I am not following what society thinks is right.

What does fitness and being healthy mean to you?

Fitness and being healthy are so crucial for my day to day. Suffering from depression and anxiety can make life more difficult, whether or not people realize it. Therefore, placing time and attention to exercise is one form of self care. As a dancer and swimmer, these outlets allow me to get the best of both worlds, creativity and fitness, while doing something I love. They allow me to escape and leave my troubles behind, regardless of how long that may be.

As I mentioned prior, boundaries and allowing myself time to learn or re-learn myself is truly needed to become the best me. I can’t be there and support others if I can barely do that for myself. I aim to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy.

What do you want people to know about you? The fact that you are a beautiful and fierce model is special; so how does that make you feel?

One thing I want people to know about myself is that I am just like you. Of course, no one is exactly the same, but in the regards of being human, facing trials and tribulations, no one is ever alone.  I have had to work on myself, admit my wrongs, face my mistakes, and work through things I was not ready for nor expected. However, it’s about choosing yourself each and every single day and doing your best to give yourself what you deserve and need.

If I’m being honest, I’m still trying to grasp the fact that this is even an opportunity for me. Sometimes I still need to tell myself that as well to fully believe it. It feels amazing that my hard work and dedication to my goals has allowed me to have opportunities like this. My skill set, what I’ve been through, and my view on life & creativity has allowed me to grow into this beautiful and fierce model that you all see.

What is next for Leonor Ayala- Sanchez?

As of right now and this crazy Covid-19 world we live in, I aim to go back to school to complete my last seven classes to receive my bachelors degree in Business Management. I will be opening an Etsy account in a couple months to showcase and sell my art (Paintings/drawings/etc.) to help pay for school; so if you want to support a girl feel free. Other than that, I plan on continuing my exploration on Leonor Ayala-Sanchez through my art/photography/modeling/creative directing.

Once again, thank you for having me and for allowing me to take advantage of this opportunity. Be on the lookout for more work!
